Out door locations are my specialty. Most clients feel better outdoors, because of Mother Nature's role in providing incredible backgrounds for my images. Each session has it's own uniqueness in regards to lighting and location.

Creative Session: A creative session is the time we make with each other to plan your portrait in detail. I explore who you and your family are and, what they like to do, and how they relate to each other, and the environment. My images reflect whom you and what your children are doing at this time in your lives. These are memories that you will cherish for a lifetime.

Creative Session fees: Creative session fees are monies that are charged to cover the cost of all the time it will take for us to create the environment you are looking for, film, processing, and proofing the film. These fees are not a deposit and are not applied to the order. Creative fees are due at the time you book your appointment, and are non-refundable.

Review your portraits: all portraits are shown via a slide show production in our studio. This way you will be able to see the exact size that you would like to purchase, without any question of "how will it look" enlarged. There are no paper proofs to look at. This previewing session can be as long as you need to make a decision. This appointment will be made for you during the creative session.

Wall portraits: Keith Jacobs's photography specializes in portraits to decorate your walls. A portrait is an image you can enjoy from across your room without having to get up and look at it.

Helping Hands: You will be given art boards with sizes from 11x14 and up. Use these blank boards to hold up to the wall where you are thinking of hanging the portrait. Almost all-home interior decorators tell me that the wall portrait should be 1/2 of the unused wall space. An image to small for it's surroundings will be a wasted investment.

My Policy: Payment, to insure your appointment with us, the creative fee of $125.00 is due at the time of your creative session, and is non-refundable. Once your order is given a deposit of 50% is required; the balance is paid for upon completion of the order. I accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, and the American Express card, along with personal checks and cash. You may add to your order at any time, but once the order has been put into process it cannot be changed.

Portraiture: A portrait should have a timeless quality. It should be as beautiful years from now as it is today. Over the years I have found that the most beautiful and meaningful portraits have been created through special preparation and thought...here are some of mine.

Clothing and Accessories: Simplicity, comfort, and a sense of timelessness are of the utmost important. Clothing must lend itself not dominant the image. Solid or small patterns, pastel or dark clothing is best. Please no bold patterns, colors or bright colors, as these tend to make the eye wander from it's original intent, the face.

For indoor studio portraits, pastel and light colored clothing works the best, especially if you are interested in Fine Art Black and White, and sepia toned prints. White dresses on small girls are especially beautiful, and they feel beautiful when they are wearing them.

Wear colors that best suit your eyes, and completion. For example, blue-eyed individuals look better in nay or light blue, as it enhances the color and makes the eyes appear larger.

Bows and ribbons can be distracting unless they are very subtle, make them color coordinated and small in size.

For large groups of 5 or a "multi" family portrait, pick a "theme" color for everyone to wear. Solids are best, so they won't conflict in the portrait.

Eye Glasses: Eyeglass glare is nearly impossible to avoid in portraits. It would be best if you could see your Optometrist and ask to use a pair of glasses without lenses in them. They will almost always let you take a pair of frames to use.

Hair: If you don't like your hair or your children's hair then by all means have them cut a least one week in advance.

Props: I do have props, which will add interest to your portraits. If you wish you may bring items of importance to you to the session. Family pests are always welcomed to join you for your portrait.

Expressions: Every person is unique; we capture expressions that are truly "yours". We prefer to have soft and tender expressions rather than "BIG" fake smiles. The Big smile tends to make the eyes squinty, and hard looking. The captured look of a special moment can speak volumes of that person than a single smile could ever do. Artistic portraits do not require the subject to look straight into the camera. I love to photograph many different looks of my subjects that reflect that person at that particular time.

Relax and enjoy, remember having your portrait taken is an enjoyable experience, and fun. So remember parents...don't tell your children to behave constantly, kids generally behave better with other people, I know mine do. I have over 20 years of experience with children and enjoy them, so don't worry...
